Recently, IVE shared a behind-the-scenes video through their official YouTube channel, showcasing their preparations for the Lollapalooza Chicago festival.
In the video, IVE is seen rehearsing at the Chicago Auditorium Theatre a day before their Lollapalooza performance. Rei mentioned “I cut my bangs today. I wanted my hair to look Rei-like for ‘Lollapalooza’, so I cut my bangs a lot”, showing her thorough preparation. Before the rehearsal, An Yujin and Rei practiced a challenge video in the waiting room, eventually capturing a satisfactory version after several attempts.
Wearing basketball team uniforms representing Chicago as their stage outfits, IVE completed their styling with individual accessories that highlighted their personalities. During the rehearsal, they elevated the atmosphere with stage and group photos and began sound checks with “HEYA”. They then performed tracks including “Accendio”, “Off The Record”, “I AM”, “ELEVEN”, “Kitsch” and “All Night”, delivering flawless performances that could easily stand as the main show.
IVE meticulously prepared for every aspect of the performance, including audience interaction. During breaks, they showed playful behavior and engaged in discussions, captivating viewers. After the rehearsal, they expressed their excitement, “We’ve just finished rehearsing the day before ‘Lollapalooza’. Chicago even prepared these clothes for us. So we did the run-through with these clothes on. They’re so pretty! Let’s do our best in ‘Lollapalooza’ tomorrow.”
Through relentless practice, IVE impressed both domestic and international media with their dazzling performances and live vocals at “Lollapalooza”. Particularly, Jang Wonyoung, who had faced criticism for her nasal and unstable live performance skills in the early days of her career, showcased a stable and powerful low tone, garnering explosive attention on online communities and SNS.
Meanwhile, IVE is set to continue their first world tour “IVE THE 1ST WORLD TOUR ‘SHOW WHAT I HAVE’” with concerts in Jakarta on August 24th, and encore concerts at Tokyo Dome on September 4th and 5th. They will also release their new mini-album “ALIVE” on August 28th.
