The “Good Partner” phenomenon has begun. The show continues to achieve soaring ratings with each episode.
On August 25, KBS Cool FM’s “Park Myung-soo’s Radio Show” featured a phone interview with “Good Partner” writer Choi Yoo-na, who is also a divorce lawyer with 13 years of experience.
Choi Yoo-na revealed, “I spent nearly 6 years preparing “Good Partner”. This is my first time writing a drama, but I made an effort to make each episode interesting by writing 7 to 8 parts per episode.”
Episode 9 of “Good Partner”, which aired on August 24, soared to impressive ratings of 17.8% in the metropolitan area and 17.2% nationwide, with a peak of 20.1% (according to Nielsen Korea), making it the number one show in its time slot. This is a level of viewership that can truly be called a phenomenon. When Park Myung-soo asked if Choi Yoo-na felt the popularity, the writer responded, “Since I only write scripts in my room, I don’t really feel it. Sometimes I wonder if it’s real, and because only the early episodes have aired, I’m anxious to ensure that it stays interesting throughout.”
Regarding the casting, Choi Yoo-na mentioned, “Since this is my first time, I didn’t dare to say much. I’m very grateful for the actors I never imagined would join, like Jang Nara and Nam Ji-hyun.”
Jang Nara has transformed into the divorce lawyer Cha Eun-kyung in “Good Partner”, showcasing a new side with her charismatic and enigmatic character. Her remarkable acting has led viewers to comment, “The SBS Drama Awards this year must go to Jang Nara,” and “SBS should engrave Jang Nara’s name on the award right now.”
While the “Good Partner” phenomenon has begun, the show is still only halfway through its run. Many viewers are eagerly anticipating and closely following the next developments of “Good Partner”.
