TWICE’s Dahyun’s First Time Catwalk in Fashion Week but Netizens Struggle to Compliment Her

On the morning of September 11th (local time), the Michael Kors show as part of New York Fashion Week officially took place, drawing great attention from fashion enthusiasts. Notably, the appearance of TWICE’s Dahyun – the global ambassador for the brand – on the runway became a topic of discussion among netizens. This was also the first time the female idol took on the role of a fashion model. However, she was not the opening (first face) or closing model (vedette) but appeared midway through the show, “getting lost” among the professional models.

Dahyun strutted down the runway during the show alongside professional models. The TWICE member wore a brown off-shoulder mini dress from the Michael Kors S/S 25 collection, showing off her delicate shoulders and radiant white skin. Born in 1998, Dahyun opted for a sleek low ponytail and light makeup to enhance her sharp, edgy visuals.

However, Dahyun’s expressions and demeanor received mixed reviews for being stiff and lifeless. Additionally, her figure was deemed not to fit the high fashion aesthetic, making her more suitable for attending the show rather than walking in it. Her overall performance on the runway failed to leave a strong impression on viewers, especially when she walked alongside seasoned models.

Dahyun’s catwalk, described as “bland”, left little impression on netizens. Besides compliments for her beautiful skin and bright visuals, most comments suggested that the idol lacked the qualities of high fashion, making her appear out of place among the professional models.

  • “She looks so stiff standing next to the models.”
  • “Pretty forgettable, huh?”
  • “She seems better suited for game shows or maybe comedy sketches. In the group, I like her because of her bright face.”

In previous Michael Kors events, while her outfit choices were considered decent, her overall appearance failed to stand out, leading to a lackluster impression.
