Following the end of their exclusive contract with Pledis Entertainment in December 2024, five of the eight members of fromis_9 have signed with a new agency and are all set to embark on a new start while also keeping their beloved group name.
On the 26th, ASND Label shared a 28-second teaser titled ‘fromis_9’ on their social media accounts. The video features the members looking elegant and classy in black outfits during a photoshoot. It also includes audio snippets of their heartfelt messages to fans, such as: “It’s hard to express it in just one word, but we have a new beginning,” “It warms my heart, too,” “This is how I look,” “I’m someone who can be loved like this,” and “We miss you.” The teaser effectively highlights the group’s return under their name, fromis_9.

The five members who joined ASND are Song Ha-young, Park Ji-won, Lee Na-Kyung, Lee Chae-young, and Baek Ji-heon. Previously, the members had expressed difficulties coordinating with their former agency regarding the use of their group name. The three remaining members—Lee Sae-Rom, Roh Ji-sun, and Lee Seo-yeon—have not yet announced any new agency signings or plans to participate in the group’s future activities.

fromis_9 was formed in September 2017 through Mnet’s survival show, Idol School. They made their official debut in January 2018 and signed with Pledis Entertainment in 2021. After their exclusive contract with Pledis ended last December, the members decided to transfer to a new agency. In January 2025, they officially signed with ASND.
