Aespa’s new mega hit song “Supernova” has undoubtedly risen to the top as the “best song of the first half of the year.”
The pre-release title track “Supernova” from Aespa’s first full-length album was recently selected by both the American Billboard and the UK music magazine DORK as the “Best Songs of 2024 (So Far),” demonstrating the strong response from foreign media towards Aespa.
DORK praised, “Aespa’s ‘Supernova’ is a cosmic piece where electropop and hip-hop collide, taking you to another world. They create a black hole-like beat that pulls listeners in and spits them out into another dimension. This is not just K-pop, but an interstellar journey that overwhelms your speakers.”
Additionally, the renowned American economic magazine Forbes reported that Aespa’s first full-length album “Armageddon” has entered the “Billboard 200” chart, stating, “‘Armageddon’ has made its first appearance on the list of the best-selling albums in the U.S. with a tremendous increase in sales.” Forbes explained, “This is one of the highest sales figures in the U.S. and has significantly increased compared to the previous period.”
Moreover, “Supernova” topped the weekly charts of major domestic music sites Melon and Genie for 9 consecutive weeks (July 15-21), extending its record as the longest-running number one song released this year, showcasing its unparalleled popularity both domestically and internationally.
Meanwhile, Aespa will continue their tour “2024 aespa LIVE TOUR – SYNK: PARALLEL LINE -” on the 27th and 28th in Osaka, Japan, and on the 30th and 31st in Fukuoka.
