BABYMONSTER successfully completed their performance on the Mountain Stage at ‘Summer Sonic 2024,’ held on August 18th at Chiba’s Zozo Marine Stadium & Makuhari Messe in Japan. ‘Summer Sonic’ is Japan’s largest urban music festival, featuring not only top local artists but also a wide array of global musicians.
The venue was packed with fans who had gathered to see BABYMONSTER. Social media was flooded with reviews of their performance, and their collaboration with TYLA, who sparked a global sensation with the ‘Water’ challenge, also garnered attention. The challenge videos they filmed together highlighted their immense global popularity.
Amidst roaring cheers, BABYMONSTER took the stage with handheld mics, kicking off their set with a powerful performance of ‘SheeSh!’ They then heightened the festival’s energy with ‘Better Up,’ showcased their diverse charms with ‘Stuck in the Middle,’ and performed YG’s signature summer song ‘Forever.’
Notably, their flawless live performance and stage presence were impressive, especially for a rookie group. The members moved confidently around the stage, making eye contact with the audience, further cementing their status as ‘monster rookies.’ The audience responded with enthusiastic sing-alongs, elevating the energy of the event.
BABYMONSTER, who performed a total of eight songs over about 40 minutes, expressed their gratitude by saying, “We enjoyed ourselves because you all enjoyed it.” They added, “We are thankful and happy to showcase our live performance on such an amazing stage.”
On August 16th, BABYMONSTER released the Japanese version of their pre-debut song ‘Better Up.’ The song, which has been well-received for its unique YG hip-hop energy, also entered the top ranks on various local music charts, receiving positive feedback.
