On August 21, reports emerged that former BIGBANG member T.O.P allegedly blocked fellow members G-Dragon and Taeyang on Instagram, sparking intense speculation among fans and media alike.
This revelation came just days after BIGBANG’s 18th anniversary on August 19, a milestone that was celebrated by fans worldwide. However, instead of joining the festivities, T.O.P reportedly blocked fans who tagged him in congratulatory posts. The escalation of these actions led many to believe that T.O.P had also severed ties with G-Dragon and Taeyang by blocking them on social media.
Rumors that T.O.P blocked G-Dragon first surfaced in mid-2023. Specifically, many people noticed that all of G-Dragon’s likes on T.O.P’s old posts had disappeared. This sparked speculation that T.O.P had outright “blocked” the account of his close younger brother and former groupmate.
Fans were abuzz with discussions, raising suspicions that a major conflict had arisen within BIGBANG, leading to the duo “cutting ties” with each other.
Previously, in February 2022, T.O.P ended his contract with YG Entertainment. At that time, it was announced that he was still a part of BIGBANG, though the group had few joint activities. However, this past May, T.O.P confirmed that he had officially left BIGBANG to embark on a new journey.
Notably, the former BIGBANG member even removed the group’s name from his posts on his Instagram story. This saddened BIGBANG fans, who felt that even though T.O.P had left the group, it wasn’t necessary for him to be so harsh.
