On the 25th, Suga posted a handwritten apology on the official fan community Weverse, beginning with the statement, “With a sense of shame, I want to apologize to all of you once again.” He admitted to the previous charge by stating, “On the night of August 6, I made the mistake of riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk after drinking. It is all my fault. My recklessness is causing distress to everyone who cares about me.”
Previously, on the night of August 6, Suga was caught after falling while riding an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol on a street in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, around 11 PM. The police formally charged him the following day (August 7) with violating road traffic laws (driving under the influence). His blood alcohol concentration at the time was 0.227%.
Afterward, on the 24th, Suga attended a summons investigation for the charge of “driving an electric scooter under the influence.” After the investigation, he said, “I am truly sorry. I want to express my deep apologies for causing so much hurt and disappointment with my wrongful actions,” and added, “I am deeply reflecting and regretting my actions. I apologize once again to everyone who has shown me love.” Suga did not respond to additional questions from the press.
Meanwhile, Suga has been serving as a public service worker since September 2023 and is scheduled to be discharged in June 2025.
