According to SPOTV News on August 28th, Wendy will serve as a mentor on KBS2’s new variety show “The Entertainer”.
“The Entertainer” is a project aimed at finding entertainers who excel in singing, dancing, acting and variety skills. This new variety audition program, a collaboration between the original “entertainer” J.Y. Park and KBS, seeks to discover multi-talented individuals who can shake up the entertainment industry. It has already garnered attention as an unprecedented audition that will test not only singing and dancing abilities but also star quality.
Wendy, known as an “all-rounder fairy” in the idol world for her skills in singing, dancing, acting and variety, will join J.Y. Park as a mentor in the search for the next global “entertainer”. Wendy will work alongside actors Cha Tae-hyun and Kim Ha-neul, and is expected to play a significant role in discovering and nurturing globally talented individuals with both charisma and skill.
The collaboration between Wendy and J.Y. Park is particularly noteworthy, as it recalls the successful synergy between SM Entertainment’s BoA and JYP’s J.Y. Park on SBS’s “K-pop Star”. Fans are eager to see what kind of synergy the pairing of Wendy and J.Y. Park will bring to “The Entertainer”.
In addition to her activities with Red Velvet, Wendy has been actively involved in musicals, radio DJing and variety shows. She also served as a judge on Mnet’s “Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survivor”, where she showcased her exceptional talent. Recently, Red Velvet marked their 10th debut anniversary with the release of “Cosmic”, and Wendy made a welcome return as the DJ of SBS Power FM’s “Wendy’s Young Street”.
“The Entertainer” is set to premiere in the second half of this year.
