Tzuyu’s solo debut album release, “abouTZU”, was celebrated with a press conference held in the afternoon on September 5th at Lotte Hotel Seoul in Sogong-dong, Jung-gu, Seoul.
At the event, Tzuyu said, “I received a lot of support from the members. Since Nayeon and Jihyo debuted as soloists before me, I was able to ask them about things I was curious about while watching their activities from the side.”
She continued, “They gave me feedback while monitoring, and the other members also approached me, offering help if I had any difficulties, which made me feel reassured and grateful.“
She added, “Despite their busy schedules, they came to the set to cheer me on, sent food and coffee trucks, and even sang and danced along to my song during group schedules, giving me a lot of encouragement.“
Tzuyu also mentioned, “PD Park Jin-young supported me as well. He wrote the lyrics for the title track himself and paid a lot of attention to detail. He said he spent a lot of time thinking about how to show a new side of me.“
Meanwhile, Tzuyu is the third TWICE member to debut as solo artists, following Nayeon and Jihyo. Her solo album “abouTZU” features 6 tracks, including the title track “Run Away,” “Heartbreak In Heaven” (feat. Peniel of BTOB), “Lazy Baby” (feat. pH-1), “Losing Sleep,” “One Love,” and “Fly.”
The title track “Run Away” is a modern reinterpretation of synth-pop and dance genres, featuring a four-on-the-floor rhythm that follows the intro’s piano melody, combined with a powerful synth bass in the chorus. JYP’s CEO and lead producer Park Jin-young wrote the lyrics, with contributions from global artists such as Lauv, OneRepublic, MAX, and Johnny Simpson. The album will be released on various music streaming platforms on September 6th at 01:00 PM (KST).
