ITZY’s Lia is making a comeback
On July 8th, JYP Entertainment announced, “Lia‘s symptoms of tension and anxiety have significantly improved through treatment and rest. After careful discussions with Lia, she has decided to return to activities starting with ITZY’s new album, which is scheduled to be released in the second half of the year.”
They added, “However, please understand that the pre-arranged schedules and shoots before the new album’s release will be conducted with the four members (Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, Yuna).”
The agency expressed gratitude, “We thank the fans for their warm encouragement and support for Lia’s recovery, and we will continue to support the artist so she can meet the fans in a healthy state.”
Previously, Lia took a break from activities in September last year due to health issues. At that time, she mentioned, “After much deliberation, I have decided to focus more on recovering my health and will not participate in the production of this album and the world tour.“
Currently, ITZY is on their second world tour “BORN TO BE”. Having recently completed their North American tour, ITZY will be performing in Taipei on July 20th, Manila on August 3rd and Hong Kong on August 10th.

IU delights fans with special concert in Osaka, kicking off North American tour next
IU spent special moments with her fans in Japan during the ‘2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT IN OSAKA’ held at ASUE ARENA OSAKA from the 6th to the 7th.
Returning to Japan after her concert in Yokohama in March, IU opened with ‘Holly’ and showcased a lovely chemistry with local child dancers. The local fans, filling the seats, responded with cheers of joy and excitement.
During the encores, on the first day, she performed ‘I Give You My Heart,’ ‘Dear Name,’ ‘Voice Mail,’ ‘You Know,’ and ‘Palette.’ On the second day, she sang ‘Good Day’ (Japanese version), ‘Someday,’ ‘Pink Shoes,’ ‘Knees,’ and ‘Palette.’ ‘Voice Mail,’ a track from her first Japanese mini-album released in 2013 and later included in her third Korean studio album, received an enthusiastic response.
Additionally, IU sang a short Japanese version of ‘Good Day’ in response to the fans’ sing-along event, which was met with explosive cheers.

Controversies arose over Jang Won-young’s action towards the youngest member Leeseo at a recent concert of IVE
On July 7th, Koreaboo raised controversy over Jang Won-young’s attitude during IVE’s recent concert in London, the UK.
A netizen shared a fancam video showing Jang Won-young taking the crown Leeseo was wearing and criticized the female idol for stealing the spotlight of her member. Pointing out that Jang Won-young look very satisfied after taking the prop from Leeseo, OP even added the caption “pick me” for her.
Shortly after the fancam was uploaded, it attracted more than 1 million views and shares on TikTok. A debate over Jang Won-young’s attitude started in the comment section. A lot of people criticized Jang Won-young for her stealing the spotlight of another member, saying “She thinks she’s the center of attention”, “I don’t hate her but this action clearly shows how much she wants attention”, etc. Some even recalled similar incidents in the past.
However, many fans raised their voices to defend Jang Won-young, claiming that she was only joking around with Leeseo.
